About The Position

DocStar Medical Partners is seeking two Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants (NP/PA) for a Trauma/General Surgery APP role at a Medical Center in Michigan. This is a locum position with a start date of 6/23/2026 and an end date of 10/5/2026, with potential for extension. The assignment involves inpatient care, including managing admissions and consults for trauma, general surgery, and urology. The APP will also respond to trauma activations, perform admissions/H&P/Consults, and serve as the hospital-wide first call for inpatient surgical services. Proficiency in procedures such as suturing, central lines, art lines, and tube placement is required. The role includes proctoring, with a minimum of 5 procedures per proctoring session. The work schedule is 7 on/7 off, 6 PM - 6 AM, nights only, Monday - Sunday. Holidays are required only if they fall on the weekly rotation. Credentialing typically takes 30 days but applications are prioritized by start date. One APP is needed for specific dates throughout the assignment period, and a second APP is needed for two specific stretches.

Requirements

• MI Only License
• ACLS & ATLS Certifications
• Experience in Trauma and General Surgery
• Proficient in suturing, central lines, art lines, and tube placement
• Experience with EPIC/Dragon EMR
• 50 cases within 12 months (Case Logs)

Responsibilities

• Manage inpatient admissions and consults for trauma, general surgery and urology
• Respond to level I and level II trauma activations, perform admissions/H&P/Consults
• Act as hospital wide first call for all inpatient surgical services (general surgery, trauma, ortho, urology, colorectal)
• Proficient in suturing, central lines, art lines, and tube placement
• Evaluate general surgical & trauma consults/admissions and discuss with on call general surgeon
• Board any surgical cases
• Handle Urology admissions/consults/board cases for surgery
• Troubleshoot foley catheters/troubleshoot continuous bladder irrigation/assist with set up for bedside procedure if surgeon is needed
• Proctoring- Minimum 5 per procedure
