Full Time APP Night position for JFKUMC focusing on General Surgery and Surgical Subspecialty NIGHTS. The Advanced Practice Provider (Acute Care or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant) utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APP works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. The APP manages the overnight inpatient and operative needs of surgical patients in conjunction with, and under the supervision of an attending physician. They are responsible for the assessment and management of various patient populations, including the overall management of surgical patients, ordering and interpretation of diagnostic testing, and development of appropriate plans of care and therapeutic interventions. They maintain a collaborative work environment that is safe, just, and founded on principles of high reliability and quality outcomes for patients and colleagues. The APP will perform duties in accordance with state and federal regulations, network policies, NP and PA scope of practice guidelines, approved clinical privileges, and the HMHN APP policy. The APP reports to the department clinical lead and Director of Advanced Practice Providers. Full time includes weekends and holidays on a rotational basis. Acute Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a minimum of 2 years experience in the Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant role is preferred.
