About The Position

Advanced Veterinary Care (AVC) is a new state-of-the-art urgent care and specialty hospital located in Orlando, Florida. Requirements

Prior veterinary experience is required.
Proficient in drug calculation and strong anesthetic skills.
Confident with phlebotomy, placing IV catheters, nasogastric tubes, radiographs, processing in-house labs.
Comfortable with standard anesthetic protocols, induction, maintenance, and monitoring of anesthesia.
Display competency in general knowledge and nursing skills required to care for patients.
Must be comfortable to work on their feet, able to kneel, bend to work with surgery patients.
Applicant should be able to lift patients and inventory up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working in a specialty/referral hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

Increase efficiency of the doctor staff by providing care and support to patients, clients, and hospital staff.
Provide excellent medical support and compassionate care for patients and clients.
Act as a point of communication between clients and internal hospital staff regarding the status of patients in hospital.
Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
Review medical records, develop anesthetic protocol and develop post operative treatment plan with our surgeon and discharge patients.
Prepare patients for surgery including clipping, prepping and positioning for surgery.
Intubating and monitoring of patients under general anesthesia.
Perform diagnostic imaging including digital radiographs, CT scans and digital cytology.
Basic knowledge of surgical packs, sterilization protocols and instrumentation.
As necessary, help with cleaning the procedure room, instruments and the setting up and breakdown of the procedure room.
