About The Position

Provides quality healthcare in collaboration with other health care providers in an outpatient clinic/practice. Performs history and physical assessments. Manages acute and chronic conditions. Orders, conducts, and interprets appropriate diagnostic x-ray and lab tests. Involved in teaching and counseling individuals, families, and groups. Performs minor surgical procedures. Works autonomously as well as collaborates with other health care providers as needed. Performs health maintenance activities. Assists in surgery. Serves as a healthcare resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate. Administers preventative health care methods. Performs periodic hospital rounding on inpatients. Performs possible in-patient health care. Performs other functions as required.

Requirements

  • For Nurse Practitioner - Masters degree in Nursing
  • New Mexico Nurse Practitioner license
  • Federal and state DEA license
  • ANCC certification required.
  • For Physician Assistant - Baccalaureate prepared CAHEA Certified Physician Assistant or two (2) years working experience as a Certified Physician Assistant
  • Licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required (for Nurse Practitioner)
  • Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required (for Physician Assistant)
