About The Position

Beverly Hospital is seeking a collaborative General Surgeon to join an established, high-volume practice on Massachusetts' beautiful North Shore. This role offers the tight-knit culture of a premier community hospital backed by the world-class clinical resources and robust referral pipeline of the Beth Israel Lahey Health network. This position is ideal for a surgeon seeking a predictable call schedule, advanced infrastructure, and an exceptional quality of life, located just 25 miles from Boston. The practice model combines a community-based culture with specialized clinical backing, a strong referral pipeline, and the financial security of a large integrated network. Collaboration is facilitated through seamless peer access to tertiary and quaternary support from Lahey Hospital & Medical Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The surgical footprint includes 10 modern operating rooms on the main Beverly campus and 4 additional operating rooms at the nearby Danvers Ambulatory Surgery Center. The hospital utilizes a fully integrated Epic EMR system, da Vinci robots, and advanced laparoscopy and minimally invasive instrumentation. The support structure is robust, including dedicated surgical blocks, full-time Surgical Schedulers, specialized OR Billing Coordinators, and experienced Medical Assistants. The clinical scope involves high-volume bread-and-butter general surgery, acute care surgery, and advanced minimally invasive procedures. The call schedule is equitable and structured, designed to maximize predictable time off, covering the Emergency Department and inpatient consults. Active participation in network-wide quality improvement panels and local OR Executive Committee initiatives is expected.

Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited school of medicine.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited General Surgery Residency.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in General Surgery.
  • Active (or eligible for) unrestricted Massachusetts medical licensure.
  • Active (or eligible for) MA controlled substance registration.
  • Active (or eligible for) Federal DEA registration.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-volume bread-and-butter general surgery, acute care surgery, and advanced minimally invasive procedures.
  • Participate in an equitable, structured call rotation covering the Emergency Department and inpatient consults.
  • Actively participate in network-wide quality improvement panels.
  • Engage in local OR Executive Committee initiatives.
