About The Position

This is a Locum Tenens position for a General Surgeon in Medford, WI. The role involves providing comprehensive general surgery coverage on a call basis in an inpatient/outpatient setting. The coverage is call-only, with 24-hour call shifts and a beeper call type. The surgeon will need to respond to call within 2 hours for surgical emergencies. The facility is a Level IV Trauma center with 18 beds in the department and utilizes the Epic EMR system. Specialty backup from CRNA, Lab, and Imaging is available 24/7. Hospital privileges are required, and temporary privileges are available.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE)
• Licensed in WI
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• ATLS certification
• Ability to perform General Surgery procedures on adults, including Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, and GI endoscopy (Upper, Lower).
• Hospital Privileges Required

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive general surgery coverage on a call basis.
• Respond to call within 2 hours for surgical emergencies.
• Collaborate with CRNA for anesthesia support.
• Manage inpatient and outpatient surgical care.
• Utilize available lab and imaging services for patient management.
