1:1 General Support Paraeducator
About The Position
This is a 1:1 general education support paraeducator position. Under the direction and supervision of a building administrator and the supervision of licensed or certificated staff, the paraeducator supports student instruction and supervision, prepares instructional materials, carries out behavior management plans, provides general health room support, performs limited clerical and reception tasks, and provides personal health-related services for medically fragile students or students with special needs. Other related duties may be assigned by the supervisor. The position is scheduled for 6.25 hours daily over 180 contract days, with an ASAP start date.
Requirements
- Meet one of the listed paraeducator qualifications: two years of study at an institution of higher education meeting the five criteria of the Higher Education Act, with all classes at level 100 or higher; an associate's degree or higher (all associate degrees are acceptable); or passing the ETS ParaPro Assessment.
Responsibilities
