About The Position

This position involves cleaning, painting, and performing minor repairs on crane components and accessories for Morrow Equipment Company. Key responsibilities include effective communication with co-workers, customers, and vendors in a professional business environment, demonstrating a commitment to outstanding customer service. The role requires collaborative work, handling confidential information respectfully, and exhibiting a self-driven, personable, and dependable attitude. Successful problem-solving skills, detail-orientation, and adaptability to changes in the work environment are essential. The individual will be responsible for cleaning and preparing crane components, overhauling and repairing crane and hoist components using basic mechanics hand tools, and learning to operate shop machinery and power tools. Proper utilization of rigging equipment, performing maintenance on tools and shop equipment, and ensuring lifting equipment is safe for use are also critical. Adherence to all Company safety rules, policies, and procedures, including proper usage of Company-supplied PPE, is mandatory. The employee must represent the Company professionally, notify management of unsafe conditions, safeguard company tools, and be able to lift 50 pounds and work at heights. Willingness to work extra hours, including overtime and on-call availability, is expected, along with performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • May be required to maintain a current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • May be required to maintain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable by the company’s carrier.
  • May be required to have a forklift operator’s license.
  • May be required to maintain a Crane Operator Qualification.
  • May be required to complete rigger/signaling training and/or may be required to complete rigging/signal person certification.
  • MEC issued uniform, work shoes or boots with slip and puncture resistant soles, hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, rubber electrical gloves, lanyard, harness and fall protection.

  • Clean and prepare crane components.
  • Overhaul and repair crane and hoists components using basic mechanics hand tools.
  • Learn and operate shop machinery and power tools.
  • Utilize proper rigging equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on tools and shop equipment.
  • Ensure lifting equipment is in safe operating condition prior to use.
  • Follow all Company safety rules, policies, and procedures at all times, including proper usage of Company-supplied PPE as required, including hard hats, safety glasses, body harnesses, etc.
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner, which includes wearing of Company supplied MEC Branded shirts or uniforms, and proper maintenance of Company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Notify the Shop Foreman or District Service Manager of unsafe conditions and/or practices.
  • Safeguard tools and equipment belonging to the Company.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work at heights as required.
  • Ability and willingness to work extra hours, including overtime and on-call availability, according to business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by District Service Manager or Shop Foreman.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly workspace.
  • Assist co-workers whenever possible.
  • Constantly work in a safe manner and comply with all Morrow safety policies.
