About The Position

Work with a dedicated and caring organization and start doing your life's best work. This is a temporary position for approximately 3 months, with a pay rate of $15.50 per hour. The job location is 200 N. Kentucky Ave, Lakeland, FL 33801. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. In this role, you will have a wide range of responsibilities and will be a key representative of General Services. It is important to conduct yourself in a courteous and respectful manner, work independently, and keep your supervisor and team leaders informed of situations and report updates accordingly. This position can be very rewarding for someone with an open mind and good time management skills. You will be working with the DCF team in the state. This is a very visible position.

Requirements

  • Will be required to occasionally drive a state vehicle to other DCF sights in the Central Region (Polk, Highlands, Hardee).
  • May occasionally have overnight travel in Suncoast Region during emergencies.
  • Must report to 200 N. Kentucky Ave, Lakeland, FL 33801 Monday -Friday 8-5 at their own expense.
  • Any travel from that location will be on a state vehicle and that include gas, tolls, and maintenance.
  • If an overnight is required, hotel is included, and meals are provided or reimbursed.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must keep supervisor and team leaders informed of situations and report updates accordingly.
  • Must always show up to a site prepared with hand dollies and the necessary tools to get the job done.
  • Responsible for equipment/tools issued.
  • Must use the correct hand dollies to move very large and very heavy items such as filing cabinets and desks.
  • Must learn many different areas, where to go, and who to see.
  • Must introduce yourself professionally at each site and give them a business card.
  • Must maintain the warehouse and make sure it stays as neat and tidy as possible, and keep all aisles clear.
  • Never authorize services without a purchase order.
  • When someone is trespassing on state property, you need to ask them to leave. If they refuse, call 911 and immediately inform Alleyn Tanner, and Billy Ramos.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and accounting for Personal Protection Equipment and DSNAP inventory and distribution systems.
  • Compliance with CFOP 40-2 Vehicle Management, maintain your state vehicle and other state vehicles, and submitting the monthly logs in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining the ERV (Emergency Response Vehicles & Trailers).
  • Assisting the MASC with day to day needs and witnessing the destruction of mail on a weekly basis.
  • Assisting with internal and external moves for the department.
  • Making keys for employees who request them and managing a log of who has one.
  • Managing the keycard system for several sites.
  • Disposing of surplus materials and furniture in accordance with CFOP 80-2.
  • Supplying employees with furniture and desks as needed.
  • Install whiteboards, corkboards and pictures across the region in offices and hallways.
  • Assuring you always show up to a site prepared with hand dollies and the necessary tools to get the job done and be responsible for equipment/tools issued to you.
  • Assist with IT with equipment move and when a large move is taking place.
  • Using the correct hand dollies to move very large and very heavy items such as filing cabinets and desks and follow CFOP 215-4 Safety & Loss Control.
  • Making sure everything is operating as it should be at facilities, AC/Lights/Etc. so that employees can work comfortably.
  • Learning many different areas, where to go, and who to see.
  • Introducing yourself professionally at each site and giving them a business card.
  • Maintaining the warehouse and making sure it stays as neat and tidy as possible, and keeping all aisles clear.
  • Ordering supplies or requesting a PO for keys as soon as possible.
  • Assisting with Disaster Management to prepare facilities and assets for hurricane events and recovery efforts.
  • Assuring all sites have NO safety issues before leaving and dealing with all safety issues immediately.
  • Asking individuals to leave if they are trespassing on state property, and calling 911 and informing specific personnel if they refuse.
  • Transferring surplus IT equipment to the Wildwood warehouse.
  • Conducting site inspections as directed across the region.
