General Service Technician / Oil Change
About The Position
Precision Tune Auto Care NC is hiring General Service Technicians to perform basic automotive services and assist customers in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The family-owned group operates more than 30 locations across North Carolina and provides services ranging from oil changes and diagnostics to engine replacements and scheduled maintenance. The role is intended for people who are passionate about automotive work and eager to learn and grow their skills. Pay is listed as $14–$19 per hour, with commission. Entry-level lube technicians earn $14–$16 per hour with commission; General Service Technicians with one year of experience earn $17–$18 with commission; and technicians with two years of experience earn $19 or more per hour with commission. The posting notes that additional experience and a state inspection license can increase earnings. The position is available full-time or part-time. The schedule is five days per week, Monday through Saturday, with one day off. The shop is closed evenings and Sundays. Some benefits are limited to full-time employees, while 401(k) enrollment is available to full- and part-time employees.
Requirements
- One to two years of experience or relevant classes.
- Valid driver’s license or ID.
- Passion for automotive work and eagerness to learn.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work five days per week, Monday through Saturday, with one day off.
- Ability to lift 50–80 lbs, stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to work indoors or outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities
- Perform basic automotive services, including oil changes, tire maintenance, vehicle inspections, brake work, and alignments.
- Assist fellow technicians and learn advanced automotive skills.
- Provide excellent customer service and explain recommended services to customers.
- Keep the shop organized, clean, and safe.
