About The Position

Gilroy Chevrolet/Cadillac is seeking an experienced and results-driven General Sales Manager who knows how to build winning teams, drive consistent volume and gross profit, and  can lead and grow our Sales operations.  This role is designed for a leader who thrives on performance, results, accountability, and developing top sales talent!  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in automotive sales leadership, strong team management skills, and have the ability to maximize New and Used vehicle sales volume, profitability, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.  Our General Sales Manager will oversee our New and Used Vehicle sales departments, manage the Sales team, implement and execute effective sales strategies, and ensure our Sales Department meets and exceeds our sales goals, customer experience expectations, and gross profit generation targets.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Sales Manager or GSM at a franchised dealership is a must.  Preferred 2-3 years in an automotive leadership role and 5+ years total experience.
  • Strong and proven digital sales and lead management experience while managing CRM systems and dealership sales processes is a must.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding dealership sales, gross profit, and CSI targets.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and market pricing.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, lead/coach, mentor, and motivate the Sales team.
  • Manage the daily operations of the Sales Department.
  • Set and monitor individual and team monthly Sales goals.
  • Ensure proper follow-up of all prospective buyers by developing, implementing, and monitoring our CRM system
  • Establish delivery procedures and ensure delivery includes an introduction to the service department and scheduling of the first service appointment
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to maximize dealership revenue.
  • Conduct daily and weekly sales and sales training meetings.
  • Recruit, train, and develop high-performing Sales professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with dealership policies and legal regulations.
  • Create and maintain a customer-centric environment that focuses on building long-term relationships that will drive growth, retention, and profitability.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction that out-perform our Brand expectations.
  • Analyze sales metrics, market trends, and inventory performance.
  • Work closely with Finance Managers to maximize profitability.
  • Coordinate with General Manager to develop weekly and monthly marketing campaigns to drive showroom and digital traffic.
  • Monitor and maintain the showroom and display lot to ensure vehicles are clean and delivery-ready at all times.
  • Monitor and maintain vehicle marketing on all vehicles on our display lot and ensure advertising compliance is met.
  • Forecast goals and objectives for sales, gross, and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis
