About The Position

This role involves acting as an Opposing Force (OPFOR) and Role Player (RP) for a training exercise in Colorado Springs, CO, from July 23-24. The role requires participants to stay on script, wear appropriate costuming, operate various military weapons systems (including those firing marking cartridges, paintball, and blank ammunition), and engage in simulated combat. Physical fitness is essential, as participants must be able to work in austere environments, during darkness, handle weapons safely, be restrained for extended periods, and withstand being shot at with non-lethal marking ammunition while wearing protective gear.

Requirements

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Be a US Citizen and provide proof.
  • Have a valid driver's license.
  • Be physically fit with no physical limitations or preexisting medical conditions that would preclude them from working in an austere environment and during the hours of darkness.
  • Shall be familiar with basic weapons handling including safety.
  • Be able to be restrained/zip-tied for prolonged periods of time.
  • Be comfortable with having trainees frisk and search them while they are restrained.
  • Be able to stand and lay prone for extended periods of time with and without restraints.
  • Be able to participate in scenario training where they should expect to be shot at with non-lethal marking ammunition (Simmunitions, UTM, or paintballs) while wearing safety equipment (personal protective equipment).
  • Be able to wear safety equipment consisting of a full-face helmet, throat guard, and groin guard.

Nice To Haves

  • Role Player with Military/Law Enforcement experience/background preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Stay on script for the scenario without adlibbing or changing the scope of the scenario.
  • Wear clothing, including costuming and headgear, appropriate to the scenario training.
  • Operate various military weapons systems and fire marking cartridge weapons, paintball type weapons systems, and blank ammunition after instruction.
  • Act as Opposing Force (OPFOR) and engage with marking cartridge weapons.
  • Be physically fit with no limitations that would preclude working in an austere environment or during darkness.
  • Demonstrate basic weapons handling and safety.
  • Be able to be restrained/zip-tied for prolonged periods.
  • Be comfortable with trainees frisking and searching them while restrained.
  • Stand and lay prone for extended periods with and without restraints.
  • Participate in scenario training where they should expect to be shot at with non-lethal marking ammunition (Simmunitions, UTM, or paintballs) while wearing safety equipment.
