About The Position

Role Players are needed for a training exercise in Colorado Springs, CO, from July 23-24. This is a contract, temporary position with a pay rate of $20/hour. Role Players will act as Opposing Force (OPFOR), staying on script, wearing appropriate costuming, and operating various military weapons systems including those that fire marking cartridges, paintball-type systems, and blank ammunition after receiving instruction. They must be physically fit, capable of operating in austere environments and during darkness, familiar with basic weapons handling and safety, and able to be restrained and searched for prolonged periods. Role Players should expect to be engaged with marking cartridge weapons and shot at with non-lethal marking ammunition (Simmunitions, UTM, or paintballs) while wearing provided safety equipment (full-face helmet, throat guard, groin guard). They must also be able to stand and lay prone for extended periods, with or without restraints.

Requirements

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Be a US Citizen and can provide proof.
  • Have a valid driver's license.
  • Be physically fit with no physical limitations or preexisting medical conditions that would preclude them from working in an austere environment and during the hours of darkness.
  • Be familiar with basic weapons handling including safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Role Player with Military/Law Enforcement experience/background preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Stay on script for the scenario without adlibbing or changing the scope of the scenario.
  • Wear clothing, including costuming and headgear, appropriate to the significance of the scenario training.
  • Operate various military weapons systems and fire marking cartridge weapons, paintball type weapons systems, and blank ammunition after being instructed on the safe use of weapons.
  • Act as Opposing Force (OPFOR), including being engaged with marking cartridge weapons.
  • Be physically fit with no physical limitations or preexisting medical conditions that would preclude them from working in an austere environment and during the hours of darkness.
  • Be familiar with basic weapons handling including safety.
  • Be able to be restrained/zip-tied for prolonged periods of time.
  • Be comfortable with having trainees frisk and search them while they are restrained.
  • Be able to stand and lay prone for extended periods of time with and without restraints.
  • Participate in scenario training where they should expect to be shot at with non-lethal marking ammunition (Simmunitions, UTM, or paintballs) while wearing safety equipment (personal protective equipment).
  • Wear safety equipment consisting of a full-face helmet, throat guard, and groin guard.
