About The Position
The General Real Estate Appraiser position with the Department of Transportation offers an exciting way to apply your real estate expertise in public service. Requirements
- Possession of an active Pennsylvania Certified General Real Estate Appraiser certification
- Possession of an active motor vehicle license
- Meet the PA residency requirement
Responsibilities
- Review appraisal reports, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with standards
- Provide direction to staff and assist with complex valuation challenges
- Prepare bid forms, open sealed bids and award fee appraisal contracts
- Manage excess right of way sales including advertising, agreements and auction activities
- Assist attorneys and staff with preparation for hearings, trials and property plan reviews
- Assign work, evaluate performance, and guide training for appraisal personnel
