About The Position

Cardiac Physician Assistant will support the clinical, quality, and research functions of the cardiology department under the supervision of Board-Certified Cardiologists.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant
• Current certification issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Two years of inpatient medicine or cardiology experience
• ACLS and BLS certified
• Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills required
• EPIC EMR experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Working with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans for patients across inpatient and outpatient cardiology
• Assist physicians with consenting patients for cardiac procedures. May assist with cardiac procedures under supervision of a physician.
• Assessing and diagnosing cardiac conditions in patients.
• Helping to perform cardiac testing and interpreting results.
• Prescribing medication and administering treatment.
• Counseling, education and follow up of patients with cardiac conditions
• Helping with departmental research and quality initiatives
