About The Position

U-Haul is seeking a responsible, motivated, and thoughtful individual to manage one of their moving and storage centers. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the center's profitability and efficiency by hiring effective staff, managing inventory, and overseeing equipment. The role involves problem-solving as issues arise and offers varied, fast-paced, and rewarding work. U-Haul emphasizes quick hiring and payment, offering immediate start and same-day pay, including compensation for two hands-on working interviews. Additionally, a $100 hiring bonus and a $300 cash bonus are provided upon completion of the U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through their 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of management experience in retail or another service industry with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction
  • Computer expertise
  • Organizational expertise
  • Management proficiency in high-volume retail with profit and loss (P&L) accountability
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to work weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Manage the fleet to deliver clean and well-maintained equipment.
  • Perform profit/loss analyses.
  • Hire and mentor new team members.
  • Track and itemize inventory.
  • Manage the personnel budget.
  • Ensure that customers receive the highest quality of care.
  • Keep track of fuel receipts and petty cash.
  • Clean and monitor the premises, and maintain a secure environment.
  • Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
