General Manager - Homestead Country Club
About The Position
Homestead Country Club, a beloved neighborhood club since 1954, is seeking a General Manager to lead its next chapter. This is a hands-on, member-first operator role responsible for the P&L, building a first-class leadership team, and ensuring Homestead remains a desirable destination for families. Founded in 1954 and now part of Hulsing Enterprises since 2017, Homestead offers extensive amenities including tennis, pickleball, platform tennis, aquatics, fitness, and dining on nine private acres in Prairie Village, KS. The club has undergone significant renovations, including a new covered tennis building, expanded fitness space, and a growing pickleball program. The culture is casual, laid-back, and family-first.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience as a General Manager or equivalent P&L leader at a country club, racquet club, or comparable full-service hospitality property.
- Proven track record owning a property-level P&L and leading a full department-head team.
- Membership sales, dues, and retention experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Availability for a seven-day club operation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- CCM (Certified Club Manager) is a plus.
- A genuine, member-first hospitality mindset — equally comfortable courtside with members as in a budget review with ownership.
Responsibilities
- Own the full P&L across membership dues, initiation fees, food & beverage, events, and recreational programming, delivering expected financial results.
- Lead and develop the department-head team, including Director of Racquet Sports, Aquatics Director, F&B Manager, Events Manager, and Facilities Manager, fostering genuine hospitality.
- Set the tone for the member experience by being visibly present in all club areas, especially during peak periods and signature events.
- Drive membership growth and retention by working closely with the membership and sales team.
- Maintain the property's inspection-readiness across all facilities (courts, pool, fitness center, F&B outlets, grounds) and manage capital projects.
- Ensure full regulatory and safety compliance, including health, aquatics/pool safety, employment law, and Hulsing operating standards.
- Serve as the face of Homestead to the membership, the Prairie Village community, and Hulsing ownership.
