The General Manager is responsible for everything that happens during a shift, including cost, inventory, and cash control, customer relations, staffing, food management, paperwork, scheduling, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. The manager sets an example for the crew, follows all policies and procedures, and expects the same standards from team members. The role includes customer service and operational duties, and may involve performing general store-team tasks such as operating equipment, preparing products, processing orders, taking inventory, and cleaning. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The description also includes delivery-related duties and requirements, including delivering products and flyers within a designated area using an insured vehicle and a valid driver's license with a safe driving record. The work involves standing and walking for much of the day, handling supplies and food products, and sometimes lifting up to 50 pounds. Tasks may require carrying, pushing or pulling trays, climbing stairs or ladders, bending, crouching, and reaching. Work conditions can include varying temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and adverse weather during outside tasks or deliveries. Advancement opportunities may include general manager, franchisee, or Manager Corporate Operations roles.
