About The Position

Seeking to find visionary General Manager to lead the transformation of a stunning 177-room boutique resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. This Autograph Collection by Marriott property is undergoing a complete repositioning — evolving from a traditional hotel into a world-class destination resort anchored by wellness, culinary excellence, live entertainment, and the natural beauty of the Sonoran Desert. This is a rare opportunity to join at the ground floor of a major repositioning project, own the guest experience vision, and drive a property from a B rating to A/A+ status under the Liongrove portfolio. The incoming GM will be the face of the property, a community ambassador, and a dynamic leader ready to build something exceptional.

Requirements

  • Active Marriott brand experience — must have operated within the Marriott ecosystem
  • All hotel experience must be full-service — no limited-service or select-service background
  • Must have General Manager experience at a full-service resort (boutique resort experience strongly preferred)
  • Minimum 100 rooms as a GM — properties below this threshold will not be considered
  • Demonstrated success in hotel repositioning or brand transformation
  • Food & beverage leadership experience at a meaningful level
  • Exposure to luxury or upper-upscale environments at some stage of career
  • Strong commercial acumen: revenue management, marketing, finance, and operations
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • U.S. citizenship required

  • Experience driving a property toward or achieving AAA Diamond recognition
  • Background in resort wellness, spa, or membership-based hospitality models
  • Proven track record in event, wedding, and banquet programming
  • History of community-building and ambassador-style leadership

Responsibilities

  • Champion the property's transformation from a full-service hotel to a boutique destination resort
  • Develop and execute a clear vision aligned with Liongrove's brand direction and Autograph Collection standards
  • Drive the property toward AAA 5 Diamond recognition through elevated service culture
  • Serve as a visible ambassador for the resort within the Scottsdale community
  • Oversee all hotel operations including rooms, food & beverage, spa, fitness, meetings & events, and membership
  • Establish and maintain brand standards consistent with Marriott's Autograph Collection requirements
  • Build and lead a high-performing, hospitality-passionate team; mentor department heads and foster a culture of excellence
  • Drive revenue performance across all segments: rooms, F&B, spa, membership, and events
  • Collaborate with revenue management, sales, and marketing teams to maximize market positioning
  • Manage P&L, budgets, and financial forecasting to deliver strong NOI for ownership
  • Cultivate authentic relationships with the local Scottsdale community and membership base
  • Position the resort as the premier social hub of the destination
  • Lead with an extroverted, approachable style that resonates with both guests and team members
  • Utilize leadership and organizational skills daily to coordinate multiple departments and ensure smooth operations
  • Apply financial management skills for analyzing budgets, controlling costs, and driving profitability
  • Utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with staff, guests, and external partners, fostering a positive environment and resolving conflicts
  • Apply strategic planning skills to develop initiatives that enhance guest satisfaction and market competitiveness
  • Respond to operational challenges and evolving industry trends with problem-solving and adaptability
