The General Manager is responsible for everything that happens during a shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls and customer relations. The manager sets an example for the crew, follows all company policies and procedures, and expects the same from team members. The position involves staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, maintaining store standards and cleanliness, customer service, marketing, attendance, and profitability. The role also includes the general duties performed by store team members: operating equipment, stocking ingredients and supplies, preparing products, receiving and processing phone orders, taking inventory, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The work includes standing for most tasks, walking, occasional desk work, lifting and carrying supplies, pushing or pulling trays, occasional climbing, bending, crouching, and continuous reaching. Store conditions include temperature changes, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and sometimes adverse weather during outside tasks or deliveries. Driving and delivery-related duties may involve navigating stairs and carrying products to customers.
