About The Position

Collegiate Hotel Group® is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead one of Boulder’s most iconic and historic hotels, Hotel Boulderado. This role requires a highly engaged hospitality leader with a strong background in lifestyle and boutique full-service hotels, exceptional food & beverage acumen, and a passion for delivering elevated guest experiences while driving financial performance and team culture. The ideal candidate is an energetic and visible leader who thrives in independent and lifestyle-driven environments, understands the importance of storytelling and community connection, and has a proven ability to lead high-performing hotel and restaurant operations. The General Manager is responsible for the overall strategic leadership, operational excellence, financial performance, and guest satisfaction of the hotel. This includes oversight of all hotel operations, with a strong emphasis on food & beverage programming, service culture, associate engagement, revenue optimization, and owner relations. This leader will drive the continued positioning of Hotel Boulderado as Boulder’s premier lifestyle hospitality destination while ensuring operational discipline, exceptional service delivery, and strong financial returns.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a General Manager within a full-service, lifestyle, boutique, or luxury hotel environment
  • Strong food & beverage leadership experience required, including oversight of high-volume restaurants and bars
  • Proven success leading independent or lifestyle-driven hospitality operations
  • Demonstrated ability to drive financial performance, guest satisfaction, and associate engagement
  • Strong understanding of revenue management, forecasting, budgeting, and operational analytics
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading historic hotels or destination properties preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on leadership across all hotel operations with a strong floor presence and engagement with guests and associates
  • Build and foster a high-performing, service-driven culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and associate development
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop department leaders and hotel teams
  • Lead by example in delivering authentic, personalized hospitality experiences
  • Champion associate engagement, retention, training, and succession planning initiatives
  • Oversee all aspects of hotel operations including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Housekeeping, and Finance
  • Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction and reputation management performance across all channels
  • Drive operational excellence and consistent execution of brand and service standards
  • Maintain a strong understanding of luxury/lifestyle guest expectations and market positioning
  • Ensure property appearance, maintenance, cleanliness, and curb appeal consistently exceed expectations
  • Present operational and financial performance updates with confidence and strategic insight
  • Actively represent the hotel within the local Boulder community and hospitality market
  • Build strong relationships with local businesses, community partners, and university-related organizations
  • Provide strategic oversight and direction for all restaurant, bar, banquet, and catering operations
  • Partner closely with culinary and restaurant leadership to drive innovative programming, guest engagement, profitability, and service excellence
  • Understand market trends and create compelling food & beverage experiences aligned with the hotel’s positioning and Boulder market
  • Drive F&B financial performance including revenue growth, labor management, cost controls, and outlet positioning
  • Evaluate menus, concepts, activations, and operational efficiencies to maximize guest satisfaction and profitability
  • Lead all budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and expense management efforts
  • Drive topline revenue performance through collaboration with Revenue Management and Sales teams
  • Analyze market trends, STR reports, and competitive positioning to identify opportunities and risks
  • Deliver strong GOP performance and flow-through results
  • Ensure labor productivity, cost controls, and operational efficiencies are effectively managed
