Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, operations or a related field
  • Ten years of operations and commercial experience in an engineering-oriented manufacturing environment
  • Seven years progressive management experience in at least a $100 million company
  • Experience with manufacturing processes
  • Success managing in a high-mix/low-volume production environment
  • Demonstrated success using process and metrics-driven business/operating systems to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across the organization
  • A successful financial management track record, including capital and operational budgeting, and managing results against targets
  • A proven ability to improve business performance through the effective management and development of people, from senior management to line staff
  • Demonstrated executive presence, with exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and an ability to clearly articulate and sell a vision; an inspiring and decisive leadership personality
  • Superior organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • A demonstrated commitment to integrity and the highest ethical standards

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a multi-brand organization with responsibility for five distinct brands and the functions of manufacturing, product management, supply chain, engineering, quality, and support professionals in a fast-paced, high-mix/low-volume environment.
  • Oversee strategic planning and execution for a USD $180 million multi-site with over 250 people.
  • Be accountable for creating and delivering sustainable, profitable growth across the five-brand portfolio through disciplined strategy, operational performance, and customer-focused execution.
  • Lead brand-aligned product teams to develop and implement growth strategies that expand share with existing customers, build relationships with new customers, and create new market opportunities across PSG’s verticals.
  • Champion collaboration between the site’s product teams and the Global Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Foster a mindset of innovation, customer-driven new product development, and effective portfolio management to accelerate bookings, revenue, and margin performance.
  • Build and develop a team that consistently meets and beats commercial, engineering, and operational goals, with clear ownership and accountability across functions and product lines.

  • Develop and deploy a 3-year strategic plan for the five-brand portfolio by studying commercial opportunities and aligning them to PSG’s resources and capabilities; defining growth priorities and key initiatives by brand; presenting assumptions; identifying metrics; and recommending objectives to the PSG executive team.
  • Lead the ongoing deployment of the site’s MRP platform, with a focus on developing organizational capabilities to support and optimize technology.
  • Champion a process- and metrics-driven culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement to enable profitable growth across the five brands (key KPIs include bookings, revenue, gross margin, operating profit; quality, inventory on hand and inventory turns, days sales/payables outstanding, productivity, on-time delivery, and total recordable incident rate).
  • Lead monthly financial and operational reviews, tracking progress against targets and growth initiatives by brand, and deploying countermeasures as needed.
  • Own and drive brand and portfolio P&L performance, establishing growth and profitability targets by brand and ensuring execution plans deliver results (bookings, revenue, margin, and operating profit).
  • Participate in corporate strategic planning and implement enterprise strategic goals and objectives at the Operating Company level.
  • Lead capital and operational planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to fund and deliver the highest-impact growth priorities across the five-brand portfolio.
  • Continuously analyze production processes and components within the business to identify appropriate outsourcing opportunities.
  • Increase organizational effectiveness by communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising results; developing incentives; fostering a climate for offering information and opinions; and providing professional development and educational opportunities.
