The General Manager oversees everything that happens during a shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls, customer relations, staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, store image and standards, customer service, attendance, cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. The manager must set an example, follow all policies and procedures, and expect the same from the crew. The role may be offered without prior pizza experience, though such experience is preferred. Candidates must complete all evaluations up to Manager in Training before becoming a store manager. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. Raises are given after training evaluations are completed by the team member and manager; the stated wage range is $16.80–$20.36. Monthly bonuses may be offered when criteria and responsibilities are met, but are not guaranteed. General store duties include operating equipment; stocking ingredients and supplies; preparing products; receiving and processing telephone orders; taking inventory and completing paperwork; and cleaning equipment and the facility. The role requires communication with customers and coworkers, basic math and cash-handling ability, order entry by computer keyboard or touch screen, and willingness to perform any job needed. The work involves standing, walking, lifting and carrying supplies, pushing or pulling trays, occasional climbing, bending, crouching, and frequent reaching and hand use. Working conditions include temperature extremes, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, cramped spaces, and sometimes adverse weather during outside tasks.
