We are a Taiwanese restaurant deeply rooted in tradition and craftsmanship. Our specialty, Xiao Long Bao (小籠包)—meaning "little dumpling in a basket"—dates back over 1,000 years to China’s Song Dynasty. This iconic steamed dumpling, cooked traditionally in bamboo baskets, has been perfected over centuries by different regions of China and is now lovingly crafted in our kitchens to offer an unparalleled authentic experience. As the General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring excellence in food quality, service standards, and operational efficiency. You will lead and develop teams while fostering a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace culture.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably in a high-volume or full-service environment
  • Proven leadership ability with experience managing and developing teams
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, P&L analysis, and cost controls
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, health regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Nice To Haves

  • ServSafe Certification (required or ability to obtain and maintain)
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Cantonese preferred for guest and team communication, but not required.
  • Multi-unit or high-volume restaurant experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day restaurant operations, including staffing, scheduling, inventory management, and quality control
  • Ensure operational consistency and adherence to company standards
  • Uphold exceptional customer service standards
  • Create a welcoming and memorable dining experience for all guests
  • Oversee budgeting, labor controls, and cost management
  • Analyze financial performance, including P&L statements, to drive profitability
  • Recruit, hire, train, and mentor management and hourly team members
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth
  • Collaborate with leadership and marketing teams on promotions, events, and community engagement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with Washington State labor laws, wage-and-hour requirements, and scheduling practices
  • Maintain compliance with health department regulations, food safety standards, and company policies
