About The Position

The General Manager, Marine Operations (GMMO) delivers a premium service experience for regional marine and tech customers in a challenging yet rewarding environment. A broad role with great responsibility, the GMMO will be the central hub for nearly all activities accomplished by OptimERA Marine. This job will support our mission to “Optimize technology for a new ERA, making things better for the next generation.” The GMMO will work consistently and diligently with internal and external stakeholders to plan, prepare, and coordinate the installation, repair, and maintenance of a variety of electronics systems.

Requirements

  • 4 years’ experience with marine electronics logistics and technology.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging technical staff, vendors, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a drive for results and continuous improvement.
  • Must pass a background check necessary to obtain a valid Transportation Worker’s Identification Card (TWIC).

Nice To Haves

  • Degree or Certificate in Business or Leadership, or advanced training(s) from previous experience (I.e., U.S. Armed Forces Veteran, Manufacturer/Factory Certifications).
  • Strong understanding of marine electronics systems, communications, and navigation systems.
  • Experience leading logistics and/or administrative teams in the maritime industry.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain trend awareness on a variety of electronics systems, including navigation, communications, safety, and fisheries-specific systems.
  • Act as a servant-leader who focuses on motivating team members who are engaged and intrinsically motivated.
  • Support Accounting Integration efforts that will modernize and improve inventory acquisition and control.
  • Manage flow of goods and services from vendors to installation.
  • Track inventory from purchase order to invoice, ensuring accuracy and timely invoicing to support cash flow management.
  • Develop processes to implement controls for expanding the company, to include KPI's and other metrics needed to promote growth.
  • Manage company assets, including vehicles, test equipment, tools, and consumables.
  • Dispatch technicians regionally as needed.
  • Ensure policies and paperwork are handled appropriately by delegated employees.
  • Support technical teams as needed.
  • Support OptimERA Tech AR and Logistics functions as needed.
  • Support OptimERA Networks AR and Logistics functions as needed.
  • Collaborate with other divisions to obtain results in support of stated goals and objectives.
  • Direct tracking and coordination efforts for key customers and vendors.
  • Work to build and maintain relationships with vendors and customers to ensure our strategy aligns between all stakeholders, ensuring that our values are delivered and that shared success is prioritized.
  • Attend relevant conferences that are applicable to strategic initiatives.
  • Comply with safety regulations, maritime industry standards, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to iteratively improve outdated service models.
  • Work with the Technical Service Manager to leverage and support alternate OptimERA capabilities where appropriate.
  • Support other action programs guided by OptimERA’s strategic roadmap.
