About The Position

This position assists with the overall management of maintenance operations. The General Manager Maintenance will manage maintenance supervisors, oversee all designated shift operations while complying with USDA and OSHA requirements and company policies. This role will determine manpower needs, make recommendations, and assist with controlling expenses. The position requires preparing and maintaining records and reports to ensure they accurately reflect conditions, and working with department heads to meet production, quality, and yield goals. The role also involves inspecting and maintaining competence in housekeeping, safety, sanitation, and security. Additionally, the General Manager Maintenance will interview, hire, and train team members, plan, assign, direct, and monitor work, appraise work performance, reward, coach, counsel, and discipline team members, and address complaints and resolve issues. Requires knowledge of HACCP, Safety, Security, Sanitation, Quality and Yields; cost and efficiencies. Solve problems in an effective manner with sound follow up; strong math ability is a plus. Standard computer skills are required: MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Will oversee scales, PLC and IT items.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent college degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of related industry experience.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferably in a meat processing facility.
  • Knowledge of OSHA USDA and HACCP regulations.
  • Standard computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
