About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a General Manager at a University located in the Central Shenandoah Valley area. The General Manager's position will have oversight and leadership responsibilities for all food and beverage operations at the unit. The General Manager will partner and communicate daily with clients and will have full operational and financial accountability for Residential Dining, Catering, and Retail units.

Requirements

Food service management experience, ideally in a campus environment
Strong financial skills, P&L experience
Demonstrated strong leadership and hospitality skills
Ability to work collaboratively
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Professional communication skills
Passion for a high level of customer service
Knowledge of compliance with food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards
Ability to prioritize tasks
Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of Management Experience
Minimum 5 years of Functional Experience

Responsibilities

Lead a dining program with a focus on innovation, customer satisfaction, and financial performance
Build strong client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for strategic decisions
Oversee operations across residential dining, retail, and catering functions
Ensure compliance with food safety, labor, and regulatory standards
Guide and develop staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery and implement creative, cost-effective solutions
Use data-driven insights to manage budget, forecast revenue, and optimize profitability
