Sodexo is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager 5 – Food to oversee food service operations at one of the premier long-term care facilities on the Lower East Side of New York City. Requirements

  • Strong leadership experience in healthcare food service, preferably within long-term care
  • Culinary background with a passion for quality, innovation, and resident-centered dining
  • Proven success managing unionized teams in a complex, high-volume environment
  • Experience leading multi-level management teams
  • Strong financial acumen, including P&L management and cost control
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills
  • Ability to drive employee engagement and operational performance
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience – 5 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience – 5 years

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for all food service operations, including patient dining and retail services
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team including: Operations Manager, Patient Services Manager, Executive Chef, 50+ union frontline employees
  • Drive exceptional resident satisfaction through quality food, service, and hospitality
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (DOH, Joint Commission, HACCP)
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls
  • Partner closely with client leadership to deliver on program objectives and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and service excellence
