About The Position

This General Manager - Cell Business role is responsible for leading solar cell manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals while driving efficiency and continuous improvement. The position oversees manufacturing planning, department leadership, engineering, maintenance, EHS coordination, staffing, budgeting, reporting, and compliance with customer and company standards to ensure high-quality production at the Greenwood, SC facility.

Requirements

  • BS in Electronics or Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
  • 10 years’ experience in job offer or as Operations Director in solar manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the manufacture of solar cell products to meet desired safety, quality, cost, and delivery standards with optimal efficiency.
  • Define and recommend objectives for manufacturing operations.
  • Develop specific short and long-term plans and programs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for manufacturing operations.
  • Direct and monitor department managers to accomplish the goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures.
  • Initiate and implement procedures/processes to conserve material and eliminate waste through LEAN.
  • Direct the engineering activities, yield and efficiency improvement program, and equipment maintenance program to achieve yield, OEE, equipment availability, and cost targets.
  • Ensure that manufacturing facilities and equipment are engineered and maintained to minimize hazards and protect assets from loss, theft, or damage through accident prevention, safety education, fire protection, and physical security.
  • Coordinate and direct safety programs with EHS consistent safe working conditions, insurance requirements, government regulations, and corporate policy.
  • Prepare monthly manufacturing/production/distribution forecasts and budgets.
  • Complete and review daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of operating metrics.
  • Authorize recruitment, hiring, assignment, and termination of personnel in line with business demands and consistent with corporate policies and Governmental regulations.
  • Monitor facility and manpower requirements.
  • Plan and establish utilization targets to realize the most efficient use of available manpower and facilities.
  • Review all production plans for continuity between demands and goals.
  • Coordinate and monitor compliance with customer and company product specifications and standards to ensure the manufacture of quality products.
