About The Position

The Sr. Associate, Business Development – Cell & Gene Therapy is an individual contributor responsible for supporting early-stage business development activities for InspiroGene’s CGT commercialization services. This role focuses on outbound prospecting, engagement with prospective customers, opportunity qualification, and initial relationship development with pre-commercial and emerging cell and gene therapy manufacturers across the U.S. and Canada. The position supports early discovery, strategic positioning, and RFP progression in partnership with senior business development leadership, with increasing responsibility for managing qualified opportunities through early stages of the pipeline. Success will be measured by qualified pipeline development, opportunity progression, quality of CRM discipline, and effective cross-functional coordination.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, commercial strategy, consulting, sales support, or related roles supporting life sciences, pharmaceutical, or healthcare services organizations.
  • Experience supporting direct engagement with biopharmaceutical manufacturers preferred; experience participating in client-facing commercial discussions strongly valued.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare delivery and pharmaceutical drug development and commercialization lifecycles.
  • Ability to engage professionally and credibly with manufacturer stakeholders, with guidance and support from senior leaders as needed.
  • Demonstrated success in prospecting, opportunity qualification, pipeline tracking, and supporting long-cycle deal progression.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience contributing to complex RFP responses.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and effective in cross‑functional, matrixed environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, RN, MS, MBA) strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to specialty pharmacy, specialty distribution, patient support services, third‑party logistics, and/or cell and gene therapy commercialization strongly preferred.
  • Advanced scientific or clinical fluency is a meaningful advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and engage prospective cell and gene therapy manufacturers, with primary focus on pre‑commercial and clinical‑stage companies.
  • Conduct outbound outreach and lead generation activities to develop a robust and qualified opportunity pipeline.
  • Support initial discovery discussions and high-level capability presentations, building relationships and helping prepare opportunities for executive-level engagement.
  • Support early-stage qualification and shaping of CGT commercialization opportunities, including gathering information on clinical programs, launch timelines, and service needs.
  • Coordinate with marketing colleagues on account based marketing initiatives and related tactics.
  • Maintain active pipeline management and CRM documentation to support internal forecasting and prioritization.
  • Manage assigned early-stage opportunities and coordinate handoff to senior leadership as opportunities advance.
  • Partner with the RFP writer and senior business development leadership to support response strategy and competitive positioning.
  • Contribute content and client‑specific insights across specialty distribution, specialty pharmacy, hub services, and third‑party logistics.
  • Support development of differentiated responses aligned to sophisticated manufacturer expectations.
  • Support long-cycle deal progression (typically 8–12 months) by coordinating contracting workflows across Legal, Pricing, Finance, and Operations.
  • Track redlines and decision dependencies while ensuring timely escalation to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial Operations, Legal, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure alignment between BD commitments and service capabilities.
  • Contribute to BD process improvement and market intelligence efforts as part of a lean, high‑impact team.
