General Management Summer Associate
About The Position
The General Management (GM) Summer Associate program at Thermo Fisher Scientific is a 10-week position designed as a strategic pipeline for future leadership talent. It runs from June 14, 2027, to August 20, 2027. Successful participants demonstrating exceptional performance, leadership potential, and alignment with company values may be considered for the full-time General Management Graduate Leadership Development Program (GM GLDP) post-graduation. This program offers projects of significant strategic and/or operating importance across various business areas, including Operations & Manufacturing Plants, Commercial & Sales, Research & Development, Products & Services, Annual Operating Plans, and Customer Channels. Applicants must be geographically flexible and mobile, as placement depends on business needs. Onsite and in-office work is an essential function and requirement of this role.
Requirements
- MBA student completing their degree between December 2027 – June 2028.
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Biology, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field of study.
- 3+ years of work experience post-Undergraduate degree, ideally gained in large, forward-thinking, global organizations.
- Experience in Life Sciences or STEM-related industry required.
- 1+ years of experience managing direct reports.
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of influencing others, leading initiatives, driving results, and creating positive impact within teams and organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities, and solve complex problems.
- Evidence of grit, resilience, and perseverance when facing challenges, setbacks, or competing priorities.
- Strong learning agility, intellectual curiosity, and an innovative mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams.
- Geographic mobility and flexibility required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship (current or future) for employment visa status.
- Not eligible for F-1, J-1, H-1, OPT, and CPT Visas for the purpose of obtaining practical experience.
