General Maintenance Worker | Semiahmoo Resort
About The Position
This role is responsible for maintaining the building's physical appearance and the functionality of the club's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The General Maintenance Worker ensures the security, cleanliness, preventative maintenance, and repair of all engineering department tools, equipment, and safety features. This position also involves keeping work areas clean and orderly, properly storing tools and equipment, and completing delegated work orders in a timely and professional manner. The role may require responding to after-hours calls and immediately reporting and addressing unsafe conditions. Painting and yard work are also part of the responsibilities, along with other assigned tasks.
Requirements
- Must be able to complete all types of work orders generated for engineering.
- Must have a general understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to effectively perform painting, woodworking, and general carpentry.
- Ability to perform maintenance and general repair.
- Must have knowledge and the ability to operate tools, hand tools, and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Must be flexible and able to perform multiple tasks and work in stressful situations.
Nice To Haves
- Journeymen level experience or equivalent in a trade or 1+ years in building maintenance experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the building’s physical appearance and working order of the club.
- Assist with the functionality and general upkeep of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ensure the security, cleanliness, preventative maintenance, and repair of all engineering department tools, equipment, and safety features.
- Keep all maintenance and engineering storerooms and work areas clean and orderly.
- Store all tools, equipment, and spare parts in their proper locations.
- Perform proper treatment and care of tools and equipment used to perform tasks.
- Complete delegated work orders in a timely and professional manner.
- Respond to after-hour calls as necessary.
- Report and address unsafe conditions immediately.
- Perform painting and yard work duties.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
