About The Position

Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings. This includes tasks such as replacing electrical components, repairing plumbing fixtures, painting structures, repairing floors and walls, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units. The role also involves identifying projects that require specialized craftspeople, updating work logs, responding to alarm calls, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Punctual attendance and performing other assigned duties are also expected.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in building maintenance.
Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience in one or more of the building trades.
Must be able to use basic hand tools and power tools.
Must have basic reading and writing skills.
Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

Nice To Haves

Skill and knowledge in trades such as painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, glazier, masonry, and basic Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) tasks.
Basic computer skills and able to learn new systems.
Able to work effectively within a team.

Able to perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings with plaster or compound.
Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
Paint structures and equipment.
Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks.
Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles.
Hang doors and install door locks.
Replace broken windowpanes.
Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
Repair and adjust locks on doors, cabinets, and closets.
Perform minor maintenance on heating, ventilating and air conditioning units.
Exercise discretion in identifying projects requiring the services of a higher skilled crafts person.
Annotate and update work logs for specific site requirements.
Activate and deactivate building alarms and respond to alarm calls during and after regular work hours.
Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work sites.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
