About The Position

As a General Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in keeping our machinery running smoothly to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production. You will complete computerized training programs using Tyson’s SAP software and develop expertise in equipment installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair, including hydraulic, plumbing, air systems, and electrical devices. You will also learn to read Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), operate powered industrial lifting equipment, and collaborate closely with operations personnel. The role requires the use of math skills for machinery speeds, fluid capacities, and critical dimensions. The role requires physical activity such as bending, twisting, reaching, moving around the department, and working on or under industrial equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.

Requirements

  • At least 12 months of Industrial Maintenance experience in two or more of the following disciplines: Rotating Machines, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Electrical Distribution, Motor Control, Construction, Automotive or Powered Industrial Trucks, Plumbing, HVAC, Prime Power.
  • Willingness and ability to complete all required skilled trades training.
  • Flexible schedule to meet production needs.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret equipment manuals and technical instructions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to perform physical job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must complete the task after submitting an application to provide additional information to be considered for employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal industrial technical training (e.g., industrial maintenance, mechatronics, advanced manufacturing).
  • Completion of an Industrial Maintenance/Automation Technology Certificate from a US-based Technical School with classroom and hands-on training.
  • A combination of practical experience and formal education.
