About The Position

General maintenance technicians are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient production. Candidates will be expected to master skills in equipment installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of hydraulic systems, plumbing systems, air systems, and electrical devices. This role involves reading P&IDs, operating powered industrial lifting equipment, and interfacing with operations personnel. Candidates must be able to complete computerized training programs using Tyson SAP software and use math for work-related computations. The role requires bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching, moving around the department, and working on or under industrial equipment. Candidates must also be willing and able to complete all required skilled trades training courses.

Requirements

  • At least twelve months of Industrial Maintenance experience in two or more of the following disciplines: Rotation Machines, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Electrical Distribution, Motor Control, Construction, Automotive or powered industrial trucks, plumbing, HVAC, prime power (experience may be from multiple employers as long as it totals at least twelve months).
  • Completion of an Industrial Maintenance/Automation technology certificate from a US-based technical school with classroom and hands-on training will be considered in lieu of experience.
  • A combination of practical experience and formal education will also be considered.
  • Flexible schedule is necessary. Hours may vary based on production needs.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret equipment manuals and technical instructions where required.
  • Oral and written communication skills required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. if required.
  • Must be willing to bend, kneel, twist, reach, and move around the department and have the ability to work on the floor and on or under industrial equipment.
  • Position open to candidates within the country of the posted position.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to applicants who have completed formal industrial technical training from an accredited skilled trades program such as industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or advanced manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating effectively in both verbal and written form to understand safety instructions, complete computer-based training materials, and document maintenance-related activities using company systems.
  • Reading, writing, and interpreting equipment manuals and technical instructions.
  • Performing physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
