About The Position

The General Maintenance Technician completes assigned preventive and reactive maintenance repairs for assigned buildings. The role includes building repairs across a range of areas, responding to emergencies, conducting facility inspections, and reporting on conditions that may affect client occupancy and operations. The technician must follow safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, protect company and client assets, and comply with applicable ordinances, codes, and laws. The position may require support for after-hours building-related activities and attendance at periodic training seminars.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• At least one year of experience supporting mission-critical environments.
• Hands-on electrical or mechanical skill, with competence in the area outside the technician's expertise.
• Ability to operate and perform routine and emergency service on a variety of state-of-the-art critical systems.
• Knowledge and experience using basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs.
• Perform building repairs for assigned buildings.
• Install and repair door closers and thresholds, doors and frames, drywall, carpentry, wall covering, carpet, light electrical systems, ceiling tiles, light plumbing, paint, and floor tile.
• Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence, and report conditions affecting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.
• Respond effectively to emergencies.
• Prepare and submit summary reports to management describing conditions found and recommending or suggesting actions.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping and the safety of work areas and the company vehicle.
• Recognize safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
• Maintain compliance with applicable state, county, and city ordinances, codes, and laws.
• Support after-hours building-related activity as required.
• Attend periodic training seminars, online or in person, individually or as part of a group.
• Safeguard company and client assets and electronic devices in the technician's possession.
