General Maintenance Technician Instructor- B2B

StrataTech Education Group•Dallas, TX

About The Position

The General Maintenance Technician Program Instructor delivers a nine-module, employer-sponsored workforce development program for incumbent workers preparing for General Maintenance Technician roles in large-scale retail facilities. Instruction is provided through synchronous virtual sessions and hands-on lab weeks. Virtual modules meet two sessions per week; lab weeks consist of four consecutive days of hands-on instruction at ten hours per day. The instructor is the primary instructional presence across both formats and is accountable for delivering the assigned curriculum accurately and as designed. Curriculum changes or substitutions require approval from the B2B Lead Instructor or the Senior Director, Enterprise Training Operations. The program develops skills in workplace safety and energy control; tools, math, measurement, and documentation; facility systems; inspection and preventive maintenance; professional technician practices; and awareness of General Maintenance, HVAC/R, and Exterior Services pathways. The instructor prepares and stages lab equipment and materials, facilitates active adult learning, maintains records and assessments in Canvas, enforces safety requirements, and provides ongoing feedback to support learner outcomes. The role also represents StrataTech in interactions with learners, clients, and employers, and requires travel to assigned lab sites, which may include StrataTech campuses and client or employer facilities.

  • Deliver systems, inspection, and preventive maintenance content; facilitate facility walkdowns, inspection practice stations, approved preventive maintenance tasks, and scenario-based instruction using the verify-confirm-identify-check-decide-document sequence.
  • Teach work order execution and documentation across planning, execution, verification, and professional closeout.
  • Deliver HVAC/R pathway awareness content, including the refrigeration cycle, major components, non-invasive measurements, symptom recognition, and escalation judgment; facilitate specified observation and measurement activities.
