About The Position

This position is for a General Maintenance Mechanic within the Jefferson Regional Facilities Department. The typical working hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a rotation for working Saturdays. The Hospital General Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining and repairing the hospital's facilities and equipment. This includes performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting and fixing mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations, and responding promptly to maintenance requests. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure a safe and functional environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in building maintenance and repairs
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues quickly and efficiently
Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations
Ability to work independently and within a team
Good communication, customer service, and documentation skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple task efficiently
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner
Prohibits the current use of any illegal drugs

Nice To Haves

General experience with basic carpentry, electricity, and HVAC equipment preferred
Prior experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
Understanding of healthcare regulations and standards, such as OSHA, Joint Commission, and other relevant bodies
Knowledge and practice of safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries
