About The Position

Fox Cities Builders is looking for a General Maintenance Mechanic to join their team. This role is for a hands-on problem solver who loves working with vehicles, tools, and heavy equipment, and enjoys variety in their day. The mechanic will be responsible for keeping vehicles, trailers, and equipment in top-notch shape, troubleshooting and fixing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, performing preventive maintenance, and maintaining small engines, tools, and building systems. The position also involves visiting job sites for on-the-spot repairs and service calls, and contributing to the improvement of standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical skills with experience in vehicle and equipment repair.
• Ability to use power and hand tools confidently and safely.
• Knowledge of aerial lifts, forklifts, and general mechanics.
• Comfortable using laptops or tablets for maintenance logs, diagnostics, and repair documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to read service manuals, follow instructions, and communicate clearly in English.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Automotive certification preferred.
• CDL-Class A and Fed Med Card (or ability to obtain within 3 months).

Responsibilities

• Keep vehicles, trailers, and equipment in top-notch shape — from oil changes to major repairs.
• Troubleshoot and fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
• Maintain and repair small engines, tools, and building systems.
• Visit job sites for on-the-spot repairs and service calls.
• Help create and improve standard operating procedures to keep our shop running like a well-oiled machine.
• Work closely with the team to tackle the daily task list.
