General Maintenance Mechanic

About The Position
Performs activities related to maintaining University buildings and grounds overall appearance. May include providing basic maintenance/repair services. Specific positions may require certain skill sets.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- A minimum of two (2) years experience
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

- Certain positions may require a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Conducts routine inspections of University buildings; determines if any preventative maintenance is needed. (10%)
- Maintains and cleans tools and equipment. (10%)
- May be responsible for set-up and break-down of equipment, furniture, etc. in classrooms, event venues, etc. (10%)
- May supervise student and temporary employees. (5%)
- Orders supplies and maintains inventory. (5%)
- Performs routine maintenance and simple repair on a fleet of tractors and lawn mowers. (10%)
- Performs various building maintenance tasks including repairing roof leaks, fixing broken windows and doors, changing fuses, and spot painting; Performs routine plumbing maintenance and repair. (10%)
- Performs various custodial tasks including emptying trash cans, cleaning air conditioning filters, exterminating insects, and changing light bulbs. (10%)
- Performs various maintenance tasks on grounds including mowing, edging, trimming hedges and trees, raking leaves, and general clean up. (25%)
- Performs other related duties as assigned. (5%)
