About The Position

Davis Cartage Company is hiring a dependable and organized General Maintenance Associate for maintenance within our facilities in Corunna and the surrounding area. This role supports transportation, warehousing, and logistics operations by maintaining facilities and completing various repair and upkeep duties. This role requires strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities within a fast-paced transportation and logistics environment.

Requirements

2 years of maintenance experience preferred
Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced office environment

Responsibilities

Repair facility overhead doors, Warehouse, and LTL Docks by using a variety of methods including, welding, maintaining electrical equipment or electrical installation, and panel and motor replacement.
Repair and or install Tractor Trailer electrical plug outlets and facility lighting by replacing electrical cords, electrical boxes, outlet posts, and light bulbs.
Perform Lawn and facility grounds upkeep by mowing, weeding flower beds, landscaping, installing, and repairing company signs, and snow and ice removal using appropriate tools and motorized equipment.
Maintain and repair company facility plumbing, including bathroom plumbing, yard drains, Fuel Island pumps and Dock drains.
Repair and maintain the company building’s roofing by identifying and fixing water leaks and repairing or replacing downspouts.
Repair and diagnose issues with the company’s heating and cooling systems by cleaning air ducts, replacing thermal couplers, and igniters, and installing blower and exhaust motors.
Assist Company Mechanics with Tractor and Trailer repairs including tire replacement, installing Tractor hoods and Radiators, Tractor and Trailer electrical repairs/installation, welding door hinges and frames, and door replacement/repair.
Assist in the preparation for Warehouse Inspections by weatherproofing Warehouse Docks, fixing Warehouse door sweeps, and repairing any damage to the outside structure of Company Warehouses.
