About The Position

MG+M The Law Firm (MG+M) has an immediate opening for a Paralegal to join our General Liability practice group for any of our four California office locations: Irvine, Los Angeles, Walnut Creek, or San Francisco. MG+M is a nationally renowned litigation law firm concentrating on complex civil matters. The firm's expertise is diverse but focused in the areas of toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation. We approach litigation as a unified team, integrating our efforts with those of our clients to advance their interests wherever they do business. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of General Liability Defense litigation experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), Westlaw, PACER, and File & Serve Xpress.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large caseload with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Attendance & Punctuality: Consistently arrive at work and meetings on time; ensure responsibilities are covered when absent.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with attorneys, other paralegals, and legal administrative assistants.
  • Organization: Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Customer service: Respond promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; meet commitments.
  • Dependability: Follow instructions, complete tasks on time, work independently, and commit to the hours necessary to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously.
  • Monitor case filings and provide detailed assessments to attorneys.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents under attorney supervision.
  • Coordinate and communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, expert witnesses, court personnel, and opposing counsel as directed.
  • Conduct legal and factual research, including case law, statutes, and public records searches, and summarize findings for attorney review.
  • Prepare and organize case files, exhibits, and trial binders; maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic case files.
  • Assist with the preparation for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including witness and exhibit logistics.
  • Process and track subpoenas, records requests, and third-party discovery.
  • Review and analysis of discovery documents including medical records, sales documents, employment records, and other case materials.
  • Record and submit contemporaneous billable time in accordance with firm policies.
