This role requires strong knowledge of policy interpretation, liability analysis, litigation management, and risk transfer, as well as effective communication with insureds, claimants, attorneys, vendors, and clients.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Strong oral and written communication, including presentation skills
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrated commitment to timely reporting
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • IIA-AIC designation required.
  • Appropriate state adjuster license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and manage commercial general liability claims, including premises liability, slip and falls, product liability, construction‑related losses, and contractual liability claims.
  • Analyze policy language, endorsements, exclusions, and limits to determine coverage and draft defensible coverage determinations.
  • Conduct thorough liability investigations, including: Reviewing incident reports, contracts, and policies Obtaining and analyzing recorded statements Reviewing medical records, photographs, and expert reports
  • Evaluate damages, establish and manage accurate reserves, and assess overall claim exposure.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants and attorneys within assigned authority levels.
  • Manage litigated claims, including coordination and direction of defense counsel, review of pleadings and discovery, and participation in settlement strategy discussions.
  • Identify and pursue risk transfer opportunities, including tenders to additional insureds, contractual indemnity, and subrogation.
  • Maintain timely and professional communication with insureds, clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare clear, concise file documentation, status reports, and large loss reports in compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations, client service instructions, and quality standards.
  • Participate in audits, quality reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports the organization's quality program(s).
  • Travels as required.
