About The Position

The Finance team at Milliman, Global Corporate Services (GCS) is looking to hire a General Ledger (GL) Manager. The GL Manager manages the GL team, which is part of the Corporate Finance department. The GL team is responsible for maintenance of Oracle GL and other Accounting Systems, reviewing Journal Entries for multiple ledgers and currencies, timely and accurate creation of financial statements, and assisting Practices and other teams within Finance with General Ledger related questions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 2-3 years of team management experience.
  • Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills, with the ability to leverage Microsoft Copilot to enhance efficiency, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact and collaborate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong client service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, with a proactive and constructive approach to enhancing processes and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage GL team (US and India).
  • Manage GL processes.
  • Prepare Journal Entries in multiple ledgers and review Journal Entries prepared by the GL team.
  • Prepare consolidation and balance sheet reports.
  • Reconcile various Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Update accounting codes in Oracle GL and online Accounting Manual.
  • Answer questions about the General Ledger and Journal Entries.
  • Assist in various ad-hoc processes (e.g. Audits).
