About The Position

The General Laborer supports daily production operations at a tire recycling plant. The position performs manual labor in assigned areas, which may include the Dock, TDF, Grade, Mulch, or Crumb lines, and may also support general facility needs. Duties include assisting with machine operation and material handling, maintaining housekeeping, and supporting plant safety and efficiency. The role involves physical work in an industrial environment and requires following established safety and operating procedures. The work is performed in a tire recycling and manufacturing environment, with used tires, heavy materials, and production equipment. Frequent lifting, carrying, stacking, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods are required. Dust, odors, noise, and varying weather conditions may be present. Required personal protective equipment must be used at all times.

Requirements

Forklift experience is required.
Ability to regularly lift, twist, and stack up to 50 pounds, with assistance for heavier items.
Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
Ability to follow instructions, safety rules, and standard operating procedures.
Ability to recognize safety hazards and report unsafe conditions.
Willingness to learn new tasks and rotate between work areas as assigned.
Ability to work 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in manufacturing, recycling, or industrial environments is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform general labor throughout assigned production areas, including the Dock, TDF, Grade, Mulch, and Crumb lines.
Assist with production and granulation processes by supporting machine operation and proper material flow.
Load and unload raw materials and finished products from trailers, pallets, and production areas.
Move, stack, and transport materials and finished goods to designated locations in the plant.
Stack bags on pallets and prepare products for shipment by wrapping, capping, tagging, and labeling.
Clean machines, equipment, floors, and work areas using approved methods.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
Monitor production areas for blockages, spills, or unsafe conditions and report concerns to supervision.
Assist maintenance personnel by retrieving tools and providing basic support as directed.
Operate a skid steer, forklift, or man lift when trained, authorized, and required for the assignment.
Follow safety requirements, use PPE properly, adhere to safety procedures, and follow LOTO practices.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality and work cooperatively with coworkers and supervisors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
