About The Position

The General Laborer will assist with maintaining the facility in a clean and organized manner. The General Laborer will perform a variety of duties to include, but not limited to, Cleaning and scraping of floors and aisle; Prepare and clean-up work areas for maintenance mechanics; Clean out machine bottoms; Empty recycling containers and trash cans; Operate forklift(s); Paint as needed; and follow verbal and/or written orders of the supervisor and/or manager.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Requires passing a forklift driving test
Required to be self sufficient and highly motivated

Responsibilities

Empty trash cans and recycling containers
Clean floors by the use of powered and non-powered equipment and/or tools, this includes in the Manufacturing building, outside at chip trailers and any other area deemed needing cleaned by a Supervisor or Manager
Operate stand-up or sit down lift
Change batteries in lift, and perform routine maintenance and daily safety checks on forklift
Clean out machine bottoms
Assist Maintenance Mechanics as needed, to include preparing and cleaning-up work areas
Paint, such as rails, guards, pole, etc.
Constant standing and walking throughout assigned shift
Perform elevated work from a scissor lift and/or man lift
Requires reaching at shoulder level
Requires twisting, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending and climbing
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds several times a day
Perform other duties as assigned
