About The Position

The General Laborer supports daily production operations at a tire recycling plant. The role performs manual labor in assigned production areas, which may include the Dock, TDF, Grade, Mulch, or Crumb lines, or general site support. Duties include supporting machine operation and material handling, maintaining housekeeping, and helping ensure plant safety and efficiency. The position requires physical work in an industrial environment and adherence to established safety and operating procedures. The work environment involves used tires, heavy materials, and production equipment. Frequent lifting, carrying, stacking, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods are required. Exposure to dust, odors, noise, and varying weather conditions may occur. Required personal protective equipment must be used at all times.

Requirements

Ability to regularly lift, twist, and stack up to 50 pounds, with assistance for heavier items.
Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
Ability to follow instructions, safety rules, and standard operating procedures.
Ability to recognize safety hazards and report unsafe conditions.
Willingness to learn new tasks and rotate between work areas as assigned.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in manufacturing, recycling, or industrial environments is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform general labor functions in assigned facility production areas, including the Dock, TDF, Grade, Mulch, and Crumb lines.
Assist with production and granulation processes by maintaining material flow and supporting machine operation.
Load and unload raw materials and finished products from trailers, pallets, and production areas.
Move, stack, and transport materials and finished goods to designated plant locations.
Stack bags on pallets and prepare products for shipment by wrapping, capping, tagging, and labeling them.
Clean machines, equipment, floors, and work areas using approved methods.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through general housekeeping.
Monitor production areas for blockages, spills, or unsafe conditions and report concerns to supervision.
Assist maintenance personnel by retrieving tools and providing basic support as directed.
Operate a skid steer, forklift, or man lift when trained, authorized, and required for the assignment.
Follow safety requirements, including proper PPE use, safety procedures, and LOTO practices.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality and work cooperatively with coworkers and supervisors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
