About The Position
Performs varied tasks supporting any of the other job descriptions. This role involves preparing cores for finalization and shipment, sorting various materials like metals, glass, wires, paper, or plastics into appropriate containers for recycling, and cleaning the recycling yard. Responsibilities also include sorting metals to separate high-grade metals such as copper, brass, and aluminum for recycling, breaking down wheels and tires, and testing, charging, and recycling dismantled vehicle batteries. The position requires adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience or knowledge in the automotive industry.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Forklift certification (training and certification available).
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and talk or hear.
- Primarily on their feet for long periods of time.
- Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

- New members will be provided with the proper training and equipment to do the job at task.
Responsibilities
- Preps cores for finalization and shipment after items have been removed from vehicles.
- Sort materials, such as metals, glass, wires, paper or plastics, into appropriate containers for recycling.
- Clean recycling yard by sweeping, raking, picking up broken glass and loose paper debris, or moving barrels and bins.
- Sort metals to separate high-grade metals, such as copper, brass, and aluminum, for recycling.
- Break down wheels and tires.
- Test, charge and recycle dismantled vehicle batteries.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures.
