About The Position
Responsible for accurately locating, identifying and safely removing parts from vehicles. This role involves removing parts from vehicles for work orders within suggested time constraints in a safety-conscious manner, potentially using tools like lifts, forklifts, torches, power wrenches, and power saws. The position also requires verifying the quality of parts, reporting discrepancies, ensuring parts are clean before delivery to Quality Control, and moving vehicles and parts without causing damage or injury. The role may also involve operating forklifts or heavy machinery after certification, maintaining company vehicles, and potentially sectioning vehicles to customer specifications, all while adhering to safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience or knowledge in the automotive industry.
- Valid driver's license.
- Forklift certification (training and certification available).
- Familiarity with smartphone technology.
- Must have own tools (some will be provided).

Responsibilities
- Accurately locate, identify, and safely remove parts from vehicles.
- Remove parts from vehicles for work orders within suggested time constraints in a safety-conscious manner.
- Verify the quality of parts and report any discrepancies utilizing the Automotive Recycling Association (ARA) part system and guidelines.
- Ensure that all parts pulled are clean and brought to the Quality Control department for Quality assurance.
- Move vehicles and parts without damaging vehicles, parts, property or injuring personnel.
- Operate certain types of forklifts or heavy machinery after appropriate certification.
- Maintain assigned company lot vehicle.
- Perform safe and accurate sectioning of vehicles to customer specifications.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
