About The Position

The General Laborer supports manufacturing operations at the New Oxford container facility, working as part of a team to increase productivity and reduce downtime and waste. The role also assists with plant and facility work and may require helping with all jobs on the plant floor. The position involves following safety and lock-out/tag-out procedures and maintaining the shop and equipment according to 5S standards. Employees may be required to stack parts weighing up to 30 pounds for periods of up to 12 hours. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Be passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.
• Be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Have a good attendance record.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Be willing to work closely with other production personnel on a day-to-day basis.
• Be able to share ideas with others to solve important problems.
• Have excellent communication skills, including strong verbal communication skills.
• Thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
• Work with a sense of urgency to reduce machine downtime.
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
• Be willing to work the first and second shifts.

• Understanding that temperatures and volumes of work may vary.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to support manufacturing operations and increase productivity while decreasing downtime and waste.
• Take an active role in plant- and facilities-related work.
